Newland: Young Heart & Old School Passion
Posted by admin on February 3rd, 2010 at 2:40 pm
Universal Recording artist Newland is a rarity in the major label world of artist. He doesn't have to write a song about "turning his swag on"...he exudes it. He doesn't have to pop bottles or tell all the chicks to pop that "p"...they just do it. This guy knows how to carry himself and oozes sex appeal without even trying. It also doesn't hurt he knows how to write everything from a r&b ballad to a club banger and he's even gone country. He's perfect, or at least to me he is lol. Publicle...

Life Soundtrack Sets Rhythm For Emotion
Posted by admin on January 19th, 2010 at 1:40 pm
Everyone has their own taste in music, but why do you listen to it? How does the music you listen to make you feel, how does it influence you, your mind and your daily life, even your interactions with other people?
The power of music is amazing. Music has the power to stir our emotions. These feelings are gripping - often irresistible - and seem to emerge from nowhere. These feelings color our moods, affect our perceptions and generate a behavioral pattern. The indisputable fact about musi...

Zo! Isn’t Just Visiting
Posted by admin on December 15th, 2009 at 7:34 am
You may recognize Zo! as one of band members from the Grammy nominated group Foreign Exchange, but this guy is actually one of music's hidden gems. Detroit born/DC-Based Zo! has worked with some of the best including: Slum Village, Platinium Pied Pipers and Finale. He's even stroked the keys with the Gorilla Funk Mob. Needless to say Zo! is not just visiting. Interestingly enough this extremely talented producer/instrumentalist is also an educator. Anyone invested in bringing out the artist...

Grammy’s Not So Taylor Sympathetic
Posted by admin on December 3rd, 2009 at 9:25 am
The Recording Academy announced the 52nd Annual Grammy Nominations on Tuesday and thank the heavens that they are not dominated with sympathy votes for Taylor Swift. Nothing against the Swiftmister, I like her but I think there are plenty of more talented artist that are also derserving of some recognition. Leading the pack was Beyonce who had an amazing 10 nominations. Taylor Swift followed closely behind with 8 and of course the person who gave Taylor all her shine Kayne West was nominated ...

In a more sappier moment in hip hop, Cash Money Co-founder Birdman had a heart to heart (in promotion for his just released album..cough) with the Associated Press about Rapper Lil Wayne his pretend son. He told the writer about how he already had a plan in place to keep the label successful, but how pending imprisonment of Weezy has laid heavy on his heart. Wayne is currently facing up to a year in prison for illegal weapon charges in February. Check an excerpt from the interview:

We all know too well the saga of those who have parted ways with Diddy. After becoming stars through “Making the Band”, Day 26 has officially ended its relationship with Bad Boy records.
According to a report from theboombox.com the group has left the label but say they are still are part of Diddy’s extended family. Meaning…they gonna have to pay that street tax forever just like Mase.

AMA Recap
Posted by admin on November 23rd, 2009 at 7:37 am
The 2009 American Music Awards last night were the usual...not too exciting. I will say that there were a couple of noteable performances and I was glad to see Michael Jackson add 4 more AMA's to his collection (23 in total). He and Taylor Swift were the big winners of the night. Here is the jist of what went down:
By far the best performance of the night was Lady Gaga's performance of "Bad Romance". Despite wearing her Body Magic on the outside of her clothes and wearing a baphomet on h...

NEW MUSIC: Shae Patrick
Posted by admin on November 19th, 2009 at 12:37 pm
Singer/Songwriter Shae Patrick has leaked a new track "Stranger". Shae is one of the writers behind Paula Abdul's comeback track "Dance Like There's No Tomorrow".
He says the lyrics were inspired by infidelity. "There are so many songs about cheating, but none of them touch upon what a man is thinking in the act." I must admit this Brooklyn via DMV native is not bad on the eyes (looks like a young Marvin Gaye) so his sex appeal will definitely sell the track. The song produced by Shyboogz, ...
